About Us

About the HBA

The HBA is a volunteer-run house league basketball program for girls and boys ages 5 to 18. We are a developmental basketball program and Rep players are not permitted to play in the HBA. Our coaches use training materials from the Steve Nash Youth Basketball Program and Basketball Canada.

We have hundreds of local children playing every weekend from Thanksgiving until March Break.

Practices are held, with the exception of our Junior Boys Division, Monday - Friday evenings with games being played on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Our Junior Boys Division holds practices and games on Sundays between 11 a.m and 1 p.m.

HBA Mission Statement.

To foster, promote and teach basketball within all areas of Hamilton. To provide the opportunity for individuals to participate fairly, regardless of ability. To further the development of a player’s basketball skills. To develop and encourage sportsmanship, community spirit and good fellowship among all participants. To improve a participant’s physical, mental and social well-being. The HBA is committed to providing sound leadership for all participants, as well as a wholesome environment, an experience for personal growth and team play, and an opportunity for fun and physical exercise.
